On behalf of 51 local plumbers and laborers we settled class and collective claims for alleged overtime violations and alleged fraudulent reporting earnings to the IRS. The IRS Code creates a private right of action “if any person willfully files a fraudulent information return with respect to payments purported to be made to any other person” and awards at least $5,000. This settlement awards class members gross settlements of over $10,500, on average.
