On May 8, 2020, Judge Moshe Jacobius (Cook County) granted preliminary approval of our putative class action lawsuit against Pretium Packaging. There are an estimated 1,728 total class members and therefore the total Settlement Fund is $1,879,200.00. Additional details on the settlement will be mailed to class members. Class members do not have to do anything to claim their checks; checks will be automatically mailed if the settlement is approved. Likewise, on May 7, 2020 Judge Sophia Hall (Cook County) granted preliminary approval of our putative class action lawsuit against Professional Freezing. The estimated total settlement fund is $249,750.
Class members in both cases can check back here for more details on these Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) class action settlements. The final approval hearings in both cases will be in Chicago, Illinois.
